  • This study aimed to determine whether (a) there was an imbalance between matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) after cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in a canine model of prolonged ventricular fibrillation (VF); (b) with the duration of VF, the degree of the imbalance would be greater; and (c) there was a relationship between the level of Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs)-9 or tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase (TIMPs)-1 and the cardiac function

  • TIMP-1 and MMP-9 were analysed by Western blot and immunohistochemistry
