Abstract
The facial nerve (cranial nerve VII) has a long and convoluted course from the brainstem to the periphery, and a variety of disease processes can affect the nerve along its different segments. Radiographic imaging is a critical tool in the management of facial nerve pathologies, and a thorough understanding of the facial nerve course and its clinical anatomy is vital.
