Abstract

A new stable structure around the composition Au13Mn4 is analysed by means of electron diffraction and high resolution electron microscopy. The structure which is based on a hexagonal close packed stacking of the layers is orthorhombic with approximate lattice parameters a = 14.8 Å, b = 20.0 Å, c = 4.7 Å. The quenched in high temperature form is f.c.c. based and exhibits the same superstructure as Au4Mn in the as quenched form. Eine neue stabile Struktur in der Nähe der Zusammensetzung Au13Mn4 wird mittels Elektronenbeugung und hochauflösender Elektronenmikroskopie analysiert. Die Struktur, die auf einer hexagonal dicht gepackten Schichtfolge beruht, ist rhombisch mit Gitterparametern von etwa a = 14.8 Å, b = 20.0 Å und c = 4,7 Å. Die von hohen Temperaturen abgeschreckte Struktur hat f.c.c.-Basis und zeigt dieselbe Superstruktur wie Au4Mn in der abgeschreckten Form.
