Abstract

Cystic kidney disease in children is a main disease which can cause kidney cystic change. However, multilocular cystic renal tumors and other genetic syndrome also can make kidney cystic change. How can clinicians make correct diagnosis on such diseases? They should not only master exactly the pathogenesy, pathology and clinical features of these disease, but also know manifestations in imaging findings. Nowadays, with the development of the imaging technology, they are widely used in the clinic, which plays an important role in the diagnosis. This paper will make a review on Potter typing of cystic kidney disease and the value of imaging findings on diagnosis of the cystic kidney disease, simple renal cysts, multilocular cystic renal tumor, acquired renal cysts and other genetic syndrome.
