Abstract

Fluorescence photoswitching in autofluorescencerich in vivo environments is demonstrated by Sehoon Kim, Chong Rae Park, and co-workers on page 5574. Nanoscopic dense integration between solid-state emission and photochromism provides nanococktails capable of photoswitching of bright NIR fluorescence with high on/off contrast, bistability, and improved signal identification. These nanoprobes represent great progress in the field of fluorescence bioimaging.
