Abstract

Proper positioning is required for imaging all clients in the radiology department, but infants and children present a special challenge for radiology personnel. Infants and children may be unable to cooperate and follow verbal directions. This necessitates additional attention to minimizing pediatric clients' movement during radiologic examinations. Age-appropriate communication skills, parental involvement, and appropriate education and training of staff members are requisite in caring for pediatric clients and their families in the radiology department.
