Abstract

A 76-year-old man presenting with cardiac tamponade underwent urgent pericardial drainage using ultrasound guided pericardial puncture. A pericardial drainage catheter was left in place. The patient continued to present with symptoms suggestive of recurrent cardiac tamponade.
