Abstract

It is very common to use encryption and other cryptographic techniques for secure transmission of information. However, these techniques convert the information into corresponding ciphertext, which instead might attract greater attention from cyber miscreants. Image Steganography is a method that eliminates this issue by not letting the attackers get a whiff of the message being transferred. It hides the message within a carrier image and sends this image to give an impression that nothing confidential is being communicated. In this paper, we implement a set of algorithms to increase the security and payload of the traditional LSB (Least Significant Bit) Substitution method. The entire mechanism has been implemented using MATLAB.
