Abstract

The author presents a method that combines the hybrid integral equations with the distorted Born iterative method (DBIM) to solve the half space inversion problems. The main idea is to approximate scattering by a half space with the surface contour integral or approximate the scattered field from the half space with buried objects using hybrid integral equations (HIE). Then, implementing the modified distorted Born iterative method, one can reconstruct objects buried under lossy earth. This method can be applied if there are some other objects besides the unknown objects under the lossy earth or if the earth surface is not flat.
