Abstract

The problems of designing optoelectronic quality-control systems are considered using as an example systems for the detection and classification of visible surface defects of sheet metal roll. The structure, working principles, and features of such systems are presented. The stages of defect detection and classification are characterized and basic approaches to their practical realization are proposed.
