Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive study of the application of thermal imaging in the field of agriculture and stress detection in plants. Different methods and techniques used by the researchers are explored for stress detection in plants and improved method is designed for the process of stress detection in plants by using a combination of both numeric values obtained in the form of temperature measures as well as the thermal images obtained that is using multimodal analysis. The experiment is performed by choosing tomato plants as our study specimen and using a thermal camera for taking thermal images along with the temperature readings. Here, we present our work which will help to overcome the drawbacks faced by the past work done which consists of using only temperature data obtained or only using thermal images.
