Image Guided Radiation Therapy in Head-and-Neck Cancer: Static Dose Versus Dynamic Volumes -- The Need for Adaptive Innovation

Abstract

During radiation therapy of head and neck cancers, the tumor and the surrounding organs undergo volumetric changes. The dosimetric parameters approved initially can also change. Our study aims to identify the volumetric changes and its dosimetric impact, which occurs in target, and organs at risk during image guided adaptive radiation therapy (IGART) of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
