Abstract

Marengo, a community in northern Illinois with a population of 4,768, is developing a comprehensive management program to protect the city's groundwater resources. The city has established a groundwater protection team to evaluate various site‐specific programs for managing and protecting the community's five‐year recharge area. This paper discusses the various aspects of Marengo's groundwater protection program including a voluntary pollution prevention program for area businesses.
