Abstract

Given the complexity and extension of the phenomenon of immigration, the multiplicity of its forms, and the different methods of achieving it, it raises several issues and topics that require study and scientific and objective analysis, the most important of which is the issue of illegal immigration. On this basis, this phenomenon has taken on a new dimension in international relations, as it has become one of the most complex issues due to the overlapping of its causes, manifestations, and dimensions. From this standpoint, the research focused on the social dimensions of illegal immigration.The research addressed several basic points, namely the concept of illegal immigration and its causes, in addition to reviewing its effects, presenting the sociological approaches to explaining illegal immigration, and then learning about international agreements and conventions to combat illegal immigration.The descriptive approach was used, and the study reached several conclusions, including that the phenomenon of irregular immigration is a complex phenomenon in terms of factors and causes. Illegal immigration also has multiple effects on the social, economic, political, and health levels. The study reached a set of recommendations.
