Abstract
This is in the nature of an appeal. It has nothing to do with nationality, citizenship, or political beliefs or convictions. Although not an American citizen, I am writing to you because I am alarmed at the sight of a nation in headlong flight to destroy herself with her own hands. What America does and will do to herself must, of course, affect me as it must affect every living thing on earth, probably much more so than the actions of any other nation.
