Abstract

Intussusception is a common surgical presentation in paediatrics, however it is rare in adults. It is reported to be the cause of as few as 1% of small bowel obstruction cases in adults.1 Unlike the majority of paediatric presentations which tend to be idiopathic, almost all adult cases are secondary to pathological lesions.2,3 We present a case of ileocolic intussusception in a 32-year-old male with no significant past medical history. CT abdomen and pelvis showed distal small bowel obstruction due to the intussusception, with a lipoma appearing as the lead point.
