Abstract - The contribution makes available in open access the translation from the German into Italian of the first part of one of the classics of Roman law studies, Das edictum perpetuum. Ein Versuch zu seiner Wiederherstellung by Otto Lenel. The reconstructive effort of praetor’s edict, elaborated by the German scholar who lived at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, is to this day in its entirety still unsurpassed.
