Abstract

Information Access Technology is used for indexing and classifying information so it canbe stored and retrieved in a supported way. Information Logistics needs this technology in order to support the knowledge worker with the right information without him having to spend a lot of time searching for that information and even handing him the information elements needed. Various software tools provided by vendors supply Information Access Technology. In finding the most applicable and feasible tool we propose two quadrants: one for grading the functionality of the tool with respect to the requirements from an Information Logistics point of view and one for implementing such a tool. These quadrants will help consultants and customers in allocating the most applicable software tool for a specific environment.
