Abstract

Aim: To identify proposals for the inclusion of the Family Pediatrician in integrated Community-oriented Primary Care activities promoted through the establishment of “Community Homes.” Methods: An inclusive narrative review of scientific and gray literature was conducted. Results: In the “Community House” setting, the Family Pediatrician can operate in aggregate forms - AFTs and UCCPs -, within multidisciplinary and multiprofessional teams, in an integrated network with social-health actors from other settings and community stakeholders. A strategic figure in health care delivery, the pediatrician realizes a comprehensive care of the pediatric patient, intercepting and responding to his or her needs, through health promotion, prevention, treatment, ehabilitation and palliation interventions aimed at the individual and the community. Conclusions: Family Pediatricians are candidates to represent the driving core of a synergistic process that, with systemic logic of taking charge, allows the pursuit of health objectives of a community, enhancing all its resources.
