Abstract

Abstract Sternoclavicular joint dislocation is an uncommon injury and few clinicians have a great deal of experience treating it. Clinically, it can be surprisingly easy to miss and the presentation is often delayed. Depending on the type of dislocation, the sequelae can be life-threatening or relatively benign. This article discusses the relevant anatomy, clinical presentation, investigation and management of sternoclavicular dislocation and injuries of the medial clavicular physis.
