Abstract

In the first and second reports, the factor analysis of ship's accidents caused by dozing watch-keepers was studied. In order to clarify the mechanism of above mentioned accidents and prepare prevention measures against them, a fault tree for them was proposed. The fault tree analysis of them was carried out. The proposed fault tree was presented to show the enough usefulness. Probability comparison of ship's and car's accidents caused by dozing operators were studied in order to characterize ship's accidents. Risk assessment of both accidents were carried out. Results of both analysis showed that probability and risk of ship's accidents were too high to accept. Three important and effective prevention measures were finally proposed as the final report on this study.
