Abstract

A couple of years before his death, Walter Gore set down his memories of his earliest days, as a child reared in a “fit up” theatre; as a young dance student with Leonid Massine, and as an early member of the Marie Rambert's company at the Mercury Theatre, Notting Hill Gate. Through the courtesy of his widow, Paula Hinton Gore, we have been given the opportunity of reproducing these memoirs, which have been edited for publication by Clement Crisp.
