Abstract

a.c. susceptibility measurements show the pinning and unpinning of individual fluxoids by the alternating magnetic field. The following critical fields can be identified: H C1 , H C2 , H C3 , and H S (the superheating field). H C2 and H S give consistent K values while H C1 indicates a size effect or supercooling. In accord with theory the ratio H C3 / H C2 is greater than 1.7.
