Abstract
The development of market relations, competition for investment in science, education and culture, and the aggravation of social and environmental issues call for rapid response to external and internal changes. One of the most effective tools for that response is strategic management methods, which the libraries of different types can implement. The results of implementing strategic management workflow in library activities have quite practical and measurable benefits; they bring about improvement in the quality and efficiency of library products and services. The library products and services placement, sharing experiences and further development require a dialogue between experts, which is implemented within the framework of issue-related scientific and practical activities successfully. One of such event was the International Research and Practice Seminar “Library Development Strategies: From Idea to Implementation”, initiated by H.I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and Ukrainian Library Association in 2017. The event brought together more than 100 participants from Germany, Poland, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine and relished the media attention.
