Abstract
A mathematical model of ignition of a single aluminum particle under steady conditions is developed within the framework of Semenov's theory of thermal explosion. Based on this model, the experimental dependences of the ignition delay on the radius and limiting ignition temperature are described. The dependence of the preexponent in the empirical law of oxidation on the particle size, ambient temperature, and oxidizer content is determined.
