Abstract
This chapter begins by pointing out the surprising affinities between the two founders. It continues with a brief historical summary of the contact between the two traditions and with presenting their convergent points without avoiding the divergent ones. The chapter concludes with the fruits that may continue to emerge from this encounter. A new current, the Euroyana, is spoken of as a means to express the process of interculturation that Buddhism is experiencing in the West. This capacity for adaptation to diverse times and places is another point of similarity that exists with Ignatian spirituality and the Society of Jesus, permeable enough also to become all things to all. In Ignatian spirituality, Christification is brought about by doing the will of God in one's own life, just as Jesus Christ did in his incarnation.
