Abstract
In a recent issue of the Journal of the American Chemical Society , Scharf and List present the synthesis of enantioenriched tetrahydroisoquinolines (THIQs) via asymmetric Pictet-Spengler reaction with a novel imidodiphosphorimidate (IDPi) catalyst. This work establishes streamlined access to THIQ and related natural products.
