Abstract

We report a case of a young female with recurrent stroke-like episodes who developed disabling cerebral infarction which, after extensive aetiological investigation, was found to be caused by internal carotid artery (ICA) vasospasm. This rare condition is difficult to diagnose but has treatment implications and should be considered in the differential for idiopathic carotid territory stroke in young patients.
