Abstract
[Extract] Intranuclear inclusion bodies in the renal epithelium of domestic animals are usually caused by heavy metal toxicosis or viruses. Intranuclear inclusions of unknown aetiology and apparently of no clinical significance have been reported in the renal epithelium of the common brushtailed possum (Trichosurus vulpecula). Here we describe the appearance of idiopathic intranuclear inclusions, similar to those in the brushtail possum, in the renal tubular epithelium of several species of macropods and differentiate them from intranuclear inclusion bodies caused by viruses and lead toxicity.
