Abstract

Background: Diabetes is a complex health condition that physically, psychologically, and financially impacts people across the globe. In 2019, approximately 463 million adults were living with diabetes and prevalence continues to rise, particularly among low and middle-income countries. By 2045, 700 million individuals are expected to be living with diabetes. Its growing prevalence is especially concerning considering diabetes’ adverse side effects, including blindness, heart attacks, and strokes.
