Abstract
Background: Regular physical activity is a key element in the management of type 2 diabetes. Cytokines play a central role in the therapeutic effects of exercise. Fetuin-A, as a hepatokine, with known effects on carbohydrate metabolism, is affected by exercise and possibly its intensity in healthy individuals and increased in plasma of patients with type 2 diabetes.
