Abstract
Background: Cadmium (Cd), a toxic heavy metal distributed in the environment, is linked to cardiometabolic diseases such as cardiovascular disease (CVD), hypertension, and chronic kidney diseases (CKD). Understanding population-wide trends in levels of both blood and urinary Cd levels is critical to explore the associations of exposure to Cd and the risk of cardiometabolic diseases.
