Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a very serious medical, economic, psychological, social and societal problem. This fact was significantly negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, as diabetics belong to vulnerable groups and live a life with diabetes every day. The COVID-19 pandemic therefore requires specific care, systematic and effective resolution of daily orders, prohibitions, restrictions, obligations and necessities. As the treatment of this disease with many adverse consequences and severe limitations is more concentrated in the domestic sphere, education in Diabetes Education Centre (DEC) accordance with evidence-based medicine had to be adapted to anti-pandemic measures and long-term lock-down.
