Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 virus has inflicted severe damages on the health sector and specifically on vulnerable people. Therefore, People with diabetes are at increased risk. COVID-19 also has indirect risks on diabetic patients through changes in health services and lifestyle. Hence, it’s crucial for nurses as key actors to properly communicate the related risks to Type 1 diabetic patients, and to adopt suitable mitigation methods. At the Chronic Care Center (CCC), Lebanon, a center specialized in the treatment of type 1 diabetes, face-to-face consultations were the usual examination follow-up method.
