Abstract

This research focuses on the relationship between the concepts of identity, aculturality and intercultural communication. Identity, a complex process, which includes language, religion, culture, etc., must to be interpreted from individual and collective perspective. Part of the concept of identity is the cultural component, which gives value to the human being. From this perspective, the need for cultural identity is a condition of human mental balance; the need for alterity ensures a possibility of intercultural dialogue.
