Abstract

Summary Identity and a sense of Belonging in Psychoanalytic Institutions in the Light of Dyadic Relationships In psychoanalytic institutions, the varying conceptions of the organization develop within the close, dyadic relationships of the personal or training analyses. As a result, the conceptions of the organization vary from individual to individual, which can generate conflict in institutional life. It is suggested in this paper that institutions make an effort to create a shared understanding of the institution’s identity through structured processes of reflexion. Such reflexion can provide members of the institution with an opportunity for triangulation, thus encouraging active and constructive active interest on an institutional level.
