Abstract

This longitudinal study aimed to define psychological markers for future development of depression symptoms following the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. We focused on loneliness, intolerance of uncertainty, economic stress, and emotion evaluation biases as potential predictors of elevated depression levels. This study was conducted at two time points, during and after a general lockdown in Israel, enabling examination of immediate as well as short-term influences of the lockdown on subjective well-being.
