Abstract

Objectives: To assess the occurrence of systemic hypertension in teachers of a public school in the city of Joao Pessoa/PB. Methods: Study descriptive, with quantitative approach. The population was constituted by teachers of public schools, and the sample made up of 15 teachers. The instrument used was a form to characterize the teachers and the Hypertension. Data collection was initiated after approval by CEP-FACENE. CAAE: 28767914.5.0000.5179. Respecting the ethical aspects recommended by the CNS Resolution 466/12, in addition COFEN Resolution 311/2007. Results: The teachers before class had BP in borderline situation at the end of their educational practice began to show hypertensive values ​​ in Stage I with values ​​ of (140 / 159x90 / 99 mmHg), p-value <0.05. Conclusion: we observed a significant increase in blood pressure in teachers after their professional performance in the classroom.
