The modern society pays more and more attention to poor students; universities also have many appropriate subsidies and preferential policies for poor students and provide a lot of work-study opportunities. However, at the same time, we must consider the psychological feature of poor students and use various methods to identify poor students. So how to carry out the identification of poor college students is our thinking focus. This article constructs poor student’s index system from the ethics of qualitative point, mainly including its own, family, school and society four levels of indexes determination, combined with analytic hierarchy process for the poor students’ identification methods for quantitative analysis. This paper attempts to transform qualitative problem into quantitative problem, finally constructing poor student’s identity identification system based on the view of ethics, identifying poor students in universities more effectively, so that universities can be much fairer and more justice when they carry out corresponding activities and work.KeywordsEthicsEvaluation methodAnalytic hierarchy processIndex weightScore statistics
