Abstract

Black and ethnic-minority students face barriers in accessing and flourishing in Higher Education There is significant under-representation in post-doctoral programmes There is a clear problem in retaining Black and ethnic-minority chemists within academia The problem of attrition applies beyond academia as RSC data shows Longstanding societal issues of racial discrimination add a further complexity to the problem.
