Abstract

India is a large country, and highways play a signicant role in the country's development. As the world's population grows, so does the number of automobiles on the road. As the number of vehicles on the road grows, so does the number of accidents. As a result, there must be reduction is accidents proving the safety of roads. The research of accidental black spots revolves around the study of road safety, and if road safety is addressed, the number of accidents is likely to decrease. So, the identication of Blackspots and improvements to the specic locations in terms of geometrics of road. Indian National Highways are thus to be engineered considering all these inputs related to safety and design standards. All of these aspects were considered in a critical review, which depicted the scenario of accidents occurring on various Indian roadways, as well as their causes and solutions
