Abstract

The energy conversion from wind energy to electrical energy of a large horizontal axis wind turbine ran be controlled by changing the pitch angle. Thus, it is of interest to identify the dynamics from wind and pitch angle to electrical power. This paper presents results from identification of wind turbine dynamics. A large data set has been collected from a prototype 3 MW system called the WTS-3 located in southern Sweden. Models of different structure have been estimated and compared with physical models.
