Abstract
A method is proposed for quantitative assessment of the temperature stress as a component of the total stress in a casting wall, by numerical solution of the heat-conduction problem. The method is experimentally verified. The plane stress due to a temperature gradient in the wall of a silicate-glass sample is calculated.
