Abstract

A nanopore with 1.8 nm in diameter is fabricated on a reduced SiN membrane by focused ion beam and high energy electron beam. Through measuring the blockade ionic current for single nucleotides passing through the solid-state nanopore, it is found that the current blockade can be used to statistically detect and identify all four types of nucleotides. The current blockade fitted by Gauss function share the same trend as the volume of four type of nucleotide (dGTP > dATP > dTTP > dCTP). We find the dwell time distributions are asymmetric in shape.
