Abstract
SummaryTwo cytopathic agents detected in chimpanzee kidney cells which had been inoculated with sera from patients in the acute phase of viral hepatitis have been identified as strains of reovirus type 2. The source of the agents is unclear, but they are not considered to have a major etiologic role in viral hepatitis.
