Abstract

A simple sequential scheme of analysis suitable for the unequivocal demonstration of petroleum products present as pollutants in the estuarine environment is described. This scheme involves the use of gas chromatographic analysis of head space vapor and solvent extraction of samples followed by infrared spectrophotometric and paper chromatographic examinations.
