Abstract

Abstract A technique is described for the extraction, isolation and isoelectric focusing of protein from woody tissue of peach [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch). Following homogenization of woody samples, proteins were extracted into tris-glycinate buffer (0.01 M, pH 8.3) and concentrated by ultrafiltration. Protein samples were then placed on a Polyacrylamide gel containing carrier ampholines and electrofocused for 2½ hours. Following staining procedures, the proteins were analyzed by densitometry.
