Abstract

The spectra of neon, krypton and xenon excited in a microwave discharge were recorded between 4000 and 12 000 cm −1 under high resolution on a Fourier transform spectrometer. In all, 35 new ir lines in the spectra of Ne I, Kr I and Xe I have been measured and classified using the known energy levels. A few lines that had been measured less precisely in previous investigations were remeasured to better accuracy. Based on these observations, improved energy level term values have been derived for some of the levels of Kr I.
