Abstract

Identification of critical path on bituminous road transport network analysis is more complicated in the current period due to the involvement of multi-criteria: time, cost, safety, facilities etc. In this study, we propose multi-criteria decision making model to identify the critical path in road transport network using Integrated Fuzzy AHP – Fuzzy TOPSIS Method. For this reason, a number of criteria are defined by conducting survey from many international, national, state and village road ways. The major cause for adopting this integrated method is to yield effective optimum critical path among the possible paths between two nodes. The main purpose of taking this research is to provide effective methodology to the transport department and society to avoid the critical paths for their safe journey. Moreover, the methodology will be highly useful to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for making safer road ways in future. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, a numerical example is given at the end of this research work.
