Abstract

The fruits of Alpinia oxyphylla has been used a famous traditional Chinese medicine. A chemical investigation on the fruits of A. oxyphylla resulted in the isolation of one new acetylated flavanol glucuronide (1) and two known compounds (2–3). Compound 1 displayed a weak inhibitory effect on U251 cells with the IC50 value 128.51 μM while the positive control drug temozolomide exhibited the IC50 value 35.37 μM.
